I was not too well past few days. Noting major. More of an annoyance than anything else. But then I realized how even simple health issues have an impact on almost every area of my life. Be it career or personal, everything was impacted.
The more I think about it, the more I realize how important health really is. I mean I don’t remember what was the last thing that stopped the entire world and put almost every country in a lockdown. Even the world wars didn’t stop life in such a manner.
But all we are going to remember about 2020 is going to be the illness.
Health is Wealth But Wealth can not guaranty Health.
Maybe that’s why everyone I see around me is doing whatever they can to be better prepared. While this year is all about vaccination, last year everyone was busy with immunity boosters and health insurance.
This is the time when everyone’s focus in on health. But do we even understand health? Do we even include mental health in the conversation? And what about spiritual health. That discussion will quickly escalate in a very different direction.
This year when I was making my yearly plans, instead of making yearly resolutions I never keep, I identified different areas in my life I want to work on this year.
I included three aspects of health – physical, mental and spiritual. My efforts are not towards a treatment or quick fixes but rather I am focusing on how to build a strong foundation. Healthy food and exercise, adequate sleep, journaling, prayers, I don’t know what else I am going to add over the year, but they seemed like a good place to start.
Taking care of myself is the first step to get the necessary energy to do anything else. After all, the global economy took a dive when health was not made a priority. I am just a simple girl. How can I dare not to make health my priority?
